Description

Name owner: Osiris (?)

Title owner: –

Dimensions (hxwxd): 11.0 x 3.2 x 1.3 cm

Translation hieroglyphs: The Osiris

Preservation: Some chips and worn

R-R: –

Provenance: Malter Galleries

Comments: Prov. Malter Galleries.
This shabti with it typical wig (note the back side of the wig with the knot) and hands opposed is possibly from Tanis. Parallels for the type are published in CAA Amsterdam, inv. 9470, page 77/78. and inv. 9474, page 83/84. See also SC/18.
They could be from the same group. The text reads As(ir). It is unclear to me whether this refers to the name of the owner or just the regular start of the inscription of the shabtis: the Osiris…..without the name of the original owner.
